Playa Frijolar

This wonderful secluded beach has an incredible particularity in which instead of sand the beach has small rocks or shell pieces.

Playa Coco

The north section of this beach is a renowned spot for surfers looking for challenging waves.

Playa Pitahaya

Is a 5-minute drive south from Marbella. It boasts a special lookout point for the enjoyment of colorful sunsets.

Playa San Juanillo

Fishing village with a sand path and rock formations that divide the beach in 2, one sandy and one rocky. Hike to the lookout point for an unbeatable view!

What to do?

Relax in the quiet and secluded beaches around the area.

Go hiking! ... and get amazed at the abundant flora and fauna. 

Book a horseback riding tour.

Visit the Ostional National Wildlife Refuge for turtle nesting. *peak season is between July to December.

Where to get groceries?

In downtown Marbella you can find 2 mini markets with common products for day to day needs. *Make a note, veggies and fruits come Monday and Friday!

Nicoya, Santa Cruz and Tamarindo have larger super markets.

Where to get fresh greens?

In downtown Marbella you can get your fresh greens, basil, khale, arugula, lettuce, bok choi, also free range eggs, fresh milk, ornamentals plants and more!

Tiki Hut is located at the end of the beach road, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and serves a variety of fresh dishes.

The Surf Inn offers sandwiches, pasta, common dishes with beef, chicken, fish and pork.
Tuesday to Sunday 12:30 PM - 9 PM 


Rancho Cocobolo is a beachfront restaurant located in San Juanillo 7 km from Marbella and serves fresh seafood, pizza, cocktails and more.
Everyday 12 MD - 6 PM

Ancient People in San Juanillo serves delicious meals with a focus on health. Gluten free and vegan options. Organic beef, chicken, salads and much more.

Everyday 10 AM - 4 PM

Bar El Jardin in San Juanillo offers a mix of Costa Rican and Peruvian cuisine, seafood, wine and more.

Everyday 11 AM - 9 PM

Where to get gas?

Santa Cruz, Tamarindo, or Nosara.

In case of an emergency you can also buy a pint of gas or diesel right in front of Marbella's soccer field on the main road from 8 AM - 6 PM ask for Francisco. *cash only
